Compare the trine with the harder contact that may be running the relationship

A trine rarely speaks alone in a real synastry comparison. You may find a Moon-Venus trine beside a Mercury-Saturn square, or a Venus-Mars trine beside a Mars-Saturn opposition. The supportive contact can make the relationship worth engaging, while the difficult contact shows where engagement becomes necessary. Don't ask whether one cancels the other.
